Qubits, Measurement, and Interference

Turn a photon's polarization and measure it with a polarizer. Then apply the Hadamard gate twice and watch two paths to the same result cancel.

Objectives
  • Compute the probability of each measurement result from a qubit's two amplitudes, including cos²θ for a photon polarized at angle θ.

  • Explain why one measurement cannot reveal the amplitudes, and what 1,000 fresh copies show.

  • Explain interference with the two Hadamard paths to |1>, and why a random coin cannot cancel.
